A Very Busy Summer

Boy oh boy have we been busy over the summer. Mommy and daddy took us to the beach. We went to the Oakland Zoo and saw animals with grandma and mommy. We had fun at pre-school going through other childrens lunches. We went to Lake Almanor and we are now avid boaters. We love the wind and sun blowing through our hair. It is so much fun on the boat that we fall asleep every time.

Alyssa's Point of View:
I had fun painting at preschool. I am a very talented painter. I think I might even be better than Van Gough.

The day we got mad at Grandma-but not TOO mad

Well it started with Grandma getting us ready for preschool. We hid one of our shoes under the papers in the recycling basket. Grandma had to look for a long time to find it but she did. We were pretty impressed.
Then we went out to the Durango and guess what!!!!! The car seats were in the back of the Durango!!!! Soooooo Grandma had to put them in the car. A neighbor came by to talk too. We were running around making Grandma nervous that we would get into the street and then we cried because the lady started to talk to us. The nerve!!!!!
Well Grandma got the seats in and us in the seats. Wheew!!! She was pretty bushed by this time.
AND GUESS WHAT!!!!!! We were already 30 minutes later than she likes to be and............when she turned the key...........click.!!!!!!!! She had left on the lights the night before.
Now is when we lost it.
We cried and screamed and made our bodies really stiff when she tried to get us out of the seats.

She laughs about it now...........:):)

Long Time, No Write

I know it has been a long time since we wrote but our day job is taking over our lives. Being destructive is all we can handle right now. We are in the process of dismantling everything in grandma's house. She says that we are really good at it.

We have grown out of our highchairs. We have our own table that we sit at now. "Boy oh boy" we sure are growing up fast. We like to get out of our chairs and survey what the other is eating. If we finish early we help the other finish too. We are so helpful!!!

Mommy's Point of View

Alyssa Lu has been running a 104+ fever for 2 days. Mia has decided to step up and be a helper. While Alyssa has been sleeping alot Mia will help mommy by getting toys for Alyssa of cleaning up toys. Mia also does not like it when Alyssa cries so she rushes over to her and pats her on the back. I am so very proud of Mia for being a trooper through Alyssa not feeling well.

4/18/09

Missing Grandma & Grandpa

We really miss Grandma and Grandpa. They took a trip on a train
"I really wonder what a train is?"
"Member Mia, a train is like the BART train daddy rides on."
"Oh,"
"Now you remember right!"

We want grandma to come home and spoil us with hugs and secret treats. We sure think she is the best.

Grandpa likes to hold us and call us weird names. If he only knew what we called him!!!

Fun at Grandma's

Gee, the other day at Grandma's we really started off well.
By 8:30 we had gone through and taken out the paper garbage in Grandma's computer room; while she was cleaning that up we unrolled the toilet paper roll, which was pretty full, all over the bathroom; we put a magazine into the bowl filled with water to see what it would do; we got into some cough drops and threw them all over the room and when she was cleaning up all that we played with the computer and now it won't work.
tee hee. Pretty good for little girls. We figure that if we are that good at our young age can you imagine what we can get into when we are older? Boy. Life is soooo cool!!!!!

The horrible event at Gracie's Preschool.-Mia's viewpoint

Well. I had a great day at Gracie's BUT as I was running like the wind to Circle Time.....
Mia
I tripped and fell-real real hard.
Mia
I was knocked out cold.
Mia
They were all worried about me.
Mia
They almost called the para-guys.
Mia
I was brave.
Mia.
I thought my face had been crushed.
Mia
There was blood all over.
MIA!!!!!!!!!
What?
#1 You followed Teacher Princess around the whole time.
#2 You were not running all that fast.
#3 You were NOT knocked out .
#4 They weren't worried.
#5 You weren't brave. You were screaming like a piglet caught by it's tail!!!!!
AND there was NO Blood.
OH..........................................

Our visit to the barn

"We went to the barn to see our grandma's horse, Lorelei. We got to see people ride their horses. We think we will be riding a real horse soon."
"No we won't Mia. We are little kids."
"Speak for yourself Alyssa. Well anyway Alyssa was a little scared of the horses."
"I was not!! I just am trying to be safe."
"Anyway it was fun."
"Yah!!"

3/12/09

Preschool

Today we went to preschool. Grandma left for a long, long, long time.
"Mia. She didn't go for THAT long."
"Yes she did. And you cried too."
"I did not! At least not too long."
Teacher Princess picks up us when we are a little sad. She is really nice. So are the other teachers."
Actually, we will be going for 1 hour 15 minutes Monday. We really are getting to be big girls.

Helping in the front yard-Mia's viewpoint

Grandma had to clean up the branches in the front yard Friday and she needed me to help. I took the biggest ones because they were too big for Grandma. I know "cuz she told me so.

Alyssa wasn't any help. She just put a big branch over her neck. She is so silly. She didn't help at all. All she does is parade around with things on her head or around her neck like she thinks she's a Princess or something. Just like at preschool. She plays with the girls with the kitchen stuff and I play with the boys with the tracks and cars and trucks.

3/6/09

Gracies'- Alyssa's viewpoint

Well Mia and I really confused Grandma today. Usually I run out onto the big floor to play and Mia stays by Grandma at first. Well today Mia ran out and I stayed by Grandma. tee hee. Grandma had a terrible time deciding our name tags she makes. It was funny. She wanted us to stand together so she could see who we were but what do you think? You're right. We wouldn't stay still. ha ha It was so much fun. We think we might try this again. Like LOTS of times.

3/2/09

The PARTY!!!

Last weekend we had a birthday party for our friends Katie and James. They were turning 2 years old. We had loads of fun at the party. There were balloons bigger than us but we still played with them anyways. We were so brave!
"I liked eating all of mommies pizza" says Mia.

"You would" "You always eat mommies food instead of running around with me" Alyssa said.

We got to eat alot of yummy cake and treats. We were so tired when we got home that we cuddled with mommy and daddy until our bedtime.

We sure love to party.

My day at Gracie's-Mia's viewpoint

We went to Gracie's again today. I was happy Grandma stayed this time. She let me sit on her lap and just watch everyone. When I felt better, after about 20 minutes, she let me stand in front of her but she had her arms around me. After a long time I went out to play too. It was fun. I brought Grandma a big baby doll and a little one.
The big excitement was when we were going to leave. I went over to see the paints. I liked the color called blue. I brought it over to Grandma to see and put lots on my hand. She got really excited. It was fun. She wiped it off my hands. Darn. I thought it looked real good on my hand.
When we got home I got to go naked while Grandma washed my clothes. It was soooo much fun!!!
After our naps we got to go out front to push eachother around in out BRIO carts. I was reeally nice to Alyssa. I pushed her a lot.
Boy we are tired.

Our good day at Gracie's-Alyssa's viewpoint

We had a good day at Gracie's. When we came in I went into the play area right away. I really didn't want to miss a minute of play time. I got pushed down but I got back up again. No biggy. I sat at a table and forgot it didn't have a back on the bench. Well of course I fell backwards. I was pretty brave when Grandma came to help me. See, Grandma sat and untangled the yarn Mia and I tried to help her with while we played. She didn't leave. I think she likes watching us. Especially me. I guess we weren't a big help with the yarn. She says it is OK though. It gives her something to do.
Mia didn't play too much.

Gracie's Place Preschool Meltdown

Well Grandma said that the honeymoon is over. We have been acting real good at the preschool, but Wednesday we had a meltdown. We really cried.......well I guess screamed would be more like it.
Grandma came back in and sat with us and played with us. It was nice after Grandma came in.

2/9/09

Carpet Picnic

Today mommy let us have a carpet picnic. We got to have peanut butter on crackers. It was "Mmm, mmm, good". We drank our orange juice too. Mommy made us practice saying "please" and "thank you" while she gave us crackers. We were so hungry that we sometimes ate the cracker without saying our words. I hope we don't get in trouble, although getting into trouble is fun also. Mommy just says "No", and then picks us up and holds us. That's not soo bad after all.

A mothers reflection

Just today I found my journal that I kept after the girls were born. It was so beautiful to read through my thoughts as a new mom. There are no words to explain the connection between a mother and child. Even Paul says that a mother and child have a special bond. I have been blessed to have a connection with 2 silly, giggly, wonderful little girls (toddlers, thats what they think they are). They have grown so fast and most of the past year I can't remember but when I finally come to my senses and remember, I am sure the memories wil be enjoyable.

2/4/09

First Day of Preschool-Alyssa's viewpoint.

OH MY GOSH Mia. You were NOT a brave girl. You cried like a baby when you saw that Grandma was gone. And she was only gone for 15 minutes!!!!!
You also didn't need to tell everyone that I dumped the jello all over the floor. Tattletale.

We really had a good time at the pre-school. We get to go there again on Friday for an hour. The other children said we were babies. We are not little babies. We are just short!!!
I liked my pretty wings. I held them out one time but I knew I couldn't fly................I will need practice in order to do that......some day maybe.

Oh yah they said we were riding on "horses"....like those little things don't even look like horses. Mixed up people I guess. We will set them straight. yah We can bring in a picture of the horses at our house and a REAL horse. Lorelei.

First Day of Preschool. Mia's Viewpoint

Wow. What a day.
Boy did Alyssa mess up. Grandma was making us red jello and Alyssa dumped it all over the floor and all over her identical outfit. It was a red mess. It looked like she was covered with blood. It was sooooo cool. I don't know why Grandma wasn't laughing.................????

At the Preschool I got to dress up like a princess. The dress was too long but I think I looked very pretty. I was pretty brave when Grandma left for a long, long time.

Justin Little's b'day party.

We went to our cousin's birthday party in Stockton. We had lots of fun. He was 1 year old. He slept most of the day.

Day at the Park

We had a fun time at the park. We tried to go see the school children as they were having PE. They were bouncing basketballs to music. I think they wanted us to join them but Grandma said they didn't. I think she was wrong.
We got to swing. It is so fun. I have to admit that we weren't on our best behavior when Grandma said we had to go. Alyssa really cried.
Well gee. We didn't know when we would ever get back.
We walked to the park.......well really Grandma walked, we just encouraged her by crying if she slowed down. She said it felt like it was uphill both ways. Could that be true????? Alyssa says "No."

Fun times

We forgot to tell you the fun we had last week. Uncle Ryan and Grandma were talking about his boring life and school and we found some candy Grandma had and since she is on a diet we thought we would help her. We got it down and then unwrapped it. It was pretty good. They caught us so we only had one piece each. Boy they were funny trying to count the wrappers and candy left to find out how much we had eaten. Grandma ate two pieces of dark chocolate with nuts. She said it was so we wouldn't eat them and get sick, but we don't believe her.

Uncle Ryan

Today while Mom went to a meeting at school. (Grandma was at jury duty) Uncle Ryan took care of us. I think Quaid and Uncle Ryan had fun. Here is a picture Grandpa took of them. They looked tired, but we aren't.

Home with Mommy- Alyssa's Perspective

So... Mommy thought that we would sleep in on her day off. We totally woke up early so we could bother and crawl all over mommy in her bed. "She totally loved it, don't you think so Mia?" Mommy loves us sooo much that she can't wait to cuddle with us early in the morning.

After we played and bugged mommy, we got really hungry. Mommy fed us our breakfast and we even got to use our own spoons. We didn't even make a mess, "Yeah Right!"

I really hope that mommy has a fun day planned for us.

Journey to the Car

Guess what we did this morning? Your right! W went to grandma's house.

When mommy let us out the front door we stood and waited for her to tell us what to do. She locked the door and said, "Okay babies, Lets go to the car." So off we went. We didn't yell and scream like we normally do at 6:30am. We kept looking at mommy and she siad to us that we were being good babies. We would smile and keep going.

"I even stayed on the grass when mommy put Alyssa into the car."

"I would have if she asked me to!"

"Yeah right, Alyssa."

Then mommy strapped us into our carseats and told us how proud she was of us. We were so proud of ourselves.

"We must be big girls now, Mia"

"You really think we are all grown up Mia?"

Our Weekend

Yesterday was Saturday and we had so much fun. First we got to go shopping with our mommy and our twin friends named Katie and James. Our mommys' weren't thinking when they let us out to play. We all acted like we were going to play with the "baby toys" but then we all got together and decided it would be fun if we all ran in different directions. It was fabulous watching our mommies run around trying to wrangle us. I don't know how they caught all of us, but before we knew it we were trapped in our strollers agian. Mia looked at Katie and said in baby language, "what just happened?" "How did we get caught so fast?" All in all the mall was ok, we didn't get any toys! Maybe next time.

1/8/09

Napping problems

Alyssa says:
I don't get it. Mia is tired so I have to take a nap too. I still want to run around and help Grandma with the sweeping and today I got to help her mop the kitchen floor.
Mia is still asleep when I wake up so I just yell and scream at her until she wakes up too.

Mia says:
We looked very cute today in our white cable knit sweaters with white fur around our faces. We went for another walk but it was cut short because Uncle Ryan came home and we wanted to follow him around. He is fun. He holds us upside down. Grandma always tells him to watch out because we could throw up on him. Maybe we will some day. That would be fun.

1/7/09

Fun Day!!!

Mia speaks:
Well yesterday was a fun, fun day. If Grandma could figure out how to put a picture on the blog you could see how funny looking Alyssa was when she fell asleep at the lunch table. Uncle Ryan tickled her and she batted his hand away and still stayed asleep. It was soooo funny. She even was snoring. I looked very cute in the picture.
You can also see on the picture (when we get it put up) that I have a boo boo on my forehead. We were tearing up the house so Grandma thought it would be a great idea if we went outside in front. We thought it was a good idea too. I fell and hit my head. It didn't show up at first so I cried and Grandma carried me on our walk to the circle end of the block. Grandma was not too happy. I was crying, Quaid was pooping on every lawn, and Alyssa was running ahead.
Well when Grandma saw that I needed ice on my head we tried to head home. I didn't want to be put down, Quaid was in the middle of the road (he can't see or hear very well), and Alyssa was holding Grandma's hand but making herself fall so she didn't have to go back home.
Grandma said that taking a walk was the stupidest idea she has ever had. Alyssa sure acted like a baby.
Alyssa's rebuttle:
I am not a baby!!! I just didn't want to go home yet just because Mia had a little owie on her head.
And I also think it is mean to make fun of me when I am asleep. And I don't think you look all that cute in the picture, Mia!!!
I walked and crawled first, so there!!

1/5/09

First day back from vacation

Today we went to grandma's because our mom and dad had to go to work. We had a great time. We straightened out her clear plastic bowls and tops. Well we took them out she had to put them back in. We worked on reorganizing her pats and pans too. Alyssa even closed the dishwasher for Grandma. a few times We really would like to help her sort through the stuff in the dishwasher but she always wants us to close the door.
Upstairs Mia cleaned off Grandma's computer table. From the "Oh. No!" Grandma said when she saw her do it I am not sure Grandma was very happy, but we found some silver round flat things and we brought them to her. She seemed happy about that.
We were in the cuddling mood today so Grandma held us alot.
Uncle Ryan left some water bottles out so we each got one and walked around the house acting like we were drinking water. We were sooooo cool.
I think we did a good job today helping Grandma clean the house and cupboards and keeping her company. She wouldn't have anything to do if we weren't there.

Our first day back at grandmas

We were so excited when we pulled up to grandma's house at 6:30am this morning. We were kicking our feet and yelping in the back seat from mommy to let us out. When mommy unlocked us from our car seats we waddled as fast as our legs could carry us into grandma's house to eat our bananna pancakes and fruit. We then played all day and had a good time. When mommy came to pick us up we were studying our numbers with grandma.

1/4/09

Mia's viewpoint

I think I might be teething agian. My mouth really hurts and I can't stop drooling and I was cranky today. I wanted daddy to hold me all day because I hurt. When daddy and mommy weren't holding me I was busy today unplugging things and getting into trouble.

Alyssa's Viewpoint

So last night I was a naughty baby. I kept my mommy and daddy up most of the night. I kept crying very loudly. I think I had a night terror, because it was very scary. I finally went back to sleep but woke up again at 4:30am wanting to play. I sure napped good all day so mommy should be happy about that although she was not able to nap with me.

1/2/09

Alyssa's viewpoint

Today has been really fun. I went to Target with mommy to pick out shoes for Mia and I. I really wanted glitter shoes but they didn't come in my size. After I got what we wanted, we came home to show Mia and daddy. I showed off my new shoes by walking around the house looking at my feet. Mia liked her new shoes too.

1/1/09

Meeting new friends

Today mommy and daddy took us to Osage Park in Danville to meet a new friend. Her name was Madison. She was 2 1/2 years old. Madison liked the slide and we did too. Our daddy took us on the slide and taught us how to slide down fast. Did we mention that is was BBRRRR cold. We even had to wear our winter warmies. When we got grumpy and hungry then mommy said it was time to go. We had such a good time that we napped all the way home snoring as load as we could.
